Reflections

So, 4 years ago today (May 13th) I went into the hospital to be induced at 9pm. After 4 months of being on strict bed rest, I was so ready for this day. Knowing that my son was fully developed, so much that he had to be induced 2 days before his 'actual' due date. So, 4 years ago tomorrow at 8:48 am, my baby boy was born. The funny thing that we still laugh about is nobody knew what name we decided on until Erik went out to the waiting room to tell everyone that he was finally here. As far as our family & friends knew we were either calling him Jackson or Tyler, but little did they know that on Tuesday (he was born on a Friday), Erik came home from work & we were sitting out on our deck & Erik asked... "What do you think of the name Luke Maxwell?" I said that I loved it, but we decided that we would wait until we saw him before we decided on a name. After I was holding him in my hands I tried out all the names & I remember my doctor saying that we didn't have to decide on a name right then, but as soon as I said Luke Maxwell I knew that was it. Fits him perfect still to this day.
Tomorrow, like every year, I am taking off of work & Luke will stay home from day care so we can celebrate all day. I was planning on taking him to the park (my mom & sister are joining us) so he could play & we were going to have a picnic lunch, but it's supposed to rain all day. :( Hopefully weather.com is wrong & it doesn't rain. We have a tradition in our house that on your birthday you get to decide what restaurant we go to to celebrate each others birthday. Luke (like every year since he's known about it) has chosen Chuck E. Cheese. So, we asked his best bud, Kaiden, along with Kaiden's mommy & daddy to join us. This will be Kaiden's first time there... you're welcome Mitch & Missy. :)

I've attached some pictures of Luke's new haircut. He wanted me to cut it last night, so I did & Erik said to give him a mohawk (which I did) & it turned out really cute. He loves it & didn't want me to cut it off... after seeing his hair tonight it is definitely clear that I am NOT a hairstylist.

Hope you all had a great day! Until tomorrow...

I loved the "reflection" of Lukes birthday. Isn't it funny how you can remember to the minute when your children were born no matter how odd the time. Gabby was 3:36p.m. and Ethan was 7:14a.m.
